Collection: SORYUGAMA - traditional Kyoto pottery -

The first Wakunami Soryu, a leading figure in Kyoto celadon pottery during the Meiji and Taisho eras, was mentored by the first Suwa Sozan, absorbing his techniques.

Since then, the Wakunami family has preserved traditional skills over four generations, continuing pottery making in the Kiyomizu area of Kyoto.

The marriage to the wife of a kiln owner in Fukuoka's Koishiwara ware marked the fusion of two distinct pottery styles.

Together, they created the brand "Soryuugama," pursuing new expressions in celadon and daily dedicating themselves to the wheel to craft beloved pieces.
