This item, made from Kyoto pottery (Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki), features seasonal flowers (plum, cherry blossom, Clematis, and Japanese bush clover) painted on a gentle ceramic surface that retains the color of the clay.

The design is a key point that can be enjoyed year-round. The cup is shaped on a potter's wheel, and the plate is made using the slab technique. After being shaped, a white slip is applied, and they undergo bisque firing. After the underpainting, a transparent glaze is applied, followed by a final firing. Lastly, red and gold accents are added and fired at a low temperature.

The slightly grayish ceramic surface may show faint orange or pink hues, which is known as 'Gohonde.' This occurs due to a chemical reaction when trace amounts of iron in the clay oxidize in the kiln. It features a delicate and subtle atmosphere. The cup and plate can be used separately. This is recommended for those looking for something a little special for everyday use.

Pottery is highly absorbent and breathable, and they develop unique character and texture with long-term use. Before using, soak in lukewarm water to allow the material to absorb moisture, which helps reduce tea stains and marks.

Dishwasher use is generally acceptable; however, for thin plates that may move around, hand washing is recommended to prevent chipping from contact with other items.

Microwave: Not allowed (gold will darken at high temperatures).
