This item, made from Kyoto pottery (Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki), features seasonal flowers (plum, cherry blossom, Clematis, and Japanese bush clover) painted on a gentle ceramic surface that retains the color of the clay.

The design is a key point that can be enjoyed year-round. The plate is shaped using the tatara technique, coated with white slip, then bisque fired. After that, it receives a transparent glaze and is fired again, finishing with red and gold accents applied at low temperatures. The slightly grayish ceramic surface features subtle hues of orange and pink, resulting from a chemical reaction caused by the iron content in the clay oxidizing in the kiln, known as "gohonde." This creates a delicate, refined atmosphere. The cup and plate can be used separately, making it a great choice for those seeking something a bit nicer for everyday use.

[Care Instructions]

Pottery is absorbent and breathable, and the more you use it, the more character and texture it develops. Before use, soak it in lukewarm water to help the clay absorb moisture, which will make it less prone to tea stains and blemishes.

Dishwasher use is generally acceptable; however, for thin plates that may move around, hand washing is recommended to prevent chipping from contact with other items.

Microwave use: Not allowed (gold can turn black at high temperatures).
