Marunineko Navy（/fan/fun）

This is a paper fan created in collaboration with the Osaka kimono manufacturer, Torie. The design features the cat, which is a representative motif of Torie. It captures the image of a cat curled up on a cold day, playfully resembling a polka dot shape. The cat is depicted in a round pattern, and the bold gradient is inspired by the pull-dye technique of Kyoto Yuzen. The fan is a convenient size (approximately 22 cm) for carrying. The cat design on the fan surface is done through screen printing, while the back is hand-finished by artisans using a technique called "shikebiki." The fan comes with a horizontal opening type bag. It is produced by Kyotomi No Ya Fan Shop, established in 1894, using traditional craftsmanship.
