Kurotani Washi Long Wallet - Ocean

The beauty of the sea fills the heart with joy. This wallet, named 'Ocean,' captures the colors of the sun-drenched sea in Okinawa.

Using the special thick Kurotani Washi paper, repeatedly dyed and coated in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, we created a single painting of the sea.

From there, we crafted it into a wallet. Remarkably lightweight, even the interior pockets depict the expansive scenery of the ocean.

The coating involves applying a mixture of konnyaku powder, traditionally used to reinforce washi paper, onto the paper. This prevents fuzziness and provides a durable finish.
