We applied a coating made from natural materials traditionally used to reinforce washi paper, and then dyed it.
Through multiple repetitions of this process, interspersed with kneading, the washi paper gains remarkable durability.
This particular washi paper is utilized for the exterior of the wallet.
The interior pockets for holding cards are crafted from handmade washi paper using Mitsumata sourced from Mr. Abe, who produces Izumo Mingei paper in Shimane Prefecture. Mitsumata paper boasts a fine texture and is commonly used for banknotes.
To complement the color of the exterior, we coat the interior with konnyaku glue.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind. We hand-sign the inside.
[The wallet capacity] Holds 12 cards, 3 pockets.
